I’m not sayin’ everybody who puts inspirational quotes up on Facebook is a mean bitch. This comic is only sayin’ it doesn’t make me think you are any nicer of a person. I’m sayin’ in the time it took to post that quote to make all your Facebook friends think you are nice, you coulda actually been nice and clicked something that actually helps your friends. Just sayin’!
My first try at “arty” pumpkin carving. It was supposed to be Bill Evans but I don’t think it looks like him. On account of the lower half of his face the likeness was compromised due to the curvature of the pumpkin. My good friend Craig Solomon suggests I learn to use displacement maps in photoshop. Dang it. I knew photoshop would have something like that. This is the stencil image I wrapped on the pumpkin:
I was reading the latest comic of Michel Remillard’s Corydon Cafe and it inspired today’s bonus comic. But I didn’t post it up on the site as usual. Ya gotta vote for me at Top Web Comics to see this one. It’s called a voting incentive. This is the first incentive I made for this comic.

I have had pieces in several art shows lately but this is the first one that is exclusively my stuff. For the month of September 2012 my work is displayed at Interzone There are about 18 Tix-Comix comics up as well as some non comic artwork, including several paintings, some drawings, digital mosaics, and some 3-D plarn pieces. If you are within shouting distance, of course it looks much better in real life, but if you can’t get to Oregon, here is a Flickr slide show some of it. I accidentally neglected to photograph a few pieces and I also changed out some of the comics because some of my local fans wanted to see their faves in real life. So I’ll snap those next time I go in there. The nice thing is that this slideshow will incorporate the new material as I add it.
I did some fan art which is posted on Formal Sweatpants >> Draw the Rabbit. He wanted fans to draw his logo guy (a disheveled man in a filthy pink rabbit suit). It isn’t really a comic, just a sketch of the guy sitting on the side of the road wondering how he got there. You can speculate or write a caption in the comments if you like. I won’t spoil it by putting it here until it fades off the front page of their fan art series. So until then, if you want to see it, click the link.

Johannesburg plastic mosaic
I am in need of mass quantities of plastic bottle caps of various sizes and colors as long as they are not more than 1.5 inches in diameter and are fairly flat. My daughter is collecting metal bottle caps such as those that come on beer. You can help in two ways:
Use this handy dandy sign-up genius link to sign up to save caps for the project. Then just start hoarding them. I keep mine under the kitchen sink. We won’t use your email for ANYTHING except this. You can expect an email reminder every couple of months and when we get closer to building the project we’ll inform you where you can drop off your collection(s) and then we’ll plan the projects and invite you to come help us build them.
We don’t know at this point what the subject is going to be. It will depend on the amount and color distribution of caps we collect. Suggestions are welcome!
