Uh….. hi, hordes of impatient fans! I’m back….. kinda. Here’s the thing: I like to sketch comix and I love to write gags but lately my body has been rebelling against the tedious part that requires lots of sitting. That would be the inking, scanning, cleaning, coloring, publishing, doing the SEO…. bla blah blah….. So that’s the explanation for the hiatus, and absolutely no promise that I will try to crap out one a week or anything like that.
Anyway, this gag was written by my friend Jo King. She has a series of these dark gags, which she titles Awkward Greetings. This one is probably the mildest of the lot. We figured it would be perfect, since my drawing style could be said to be … eh…. awkward… and that’s a kind way of putting it. So here’s dear old mom, still trying to engineer a happy birthday for her son, after all these years. Look for some more Awkward Greetings, coming in future issues of Tix-Comix.
Happy Birthday Son!,
Well look who is back. Glad to see you come out swinging. Well maybe he should start swinging and get some friends.
Yay! You know what? I've been checking pretty much every day. Cheers!
Well, well, well….someone's snuck in thru the back door. Welcome back, Colleen. I had almost crossed you off for good, thinking you had officially abandoned the industry. It's good seeing you again. Do NOT be a stranger. I've missed ya. 😀
Funny but weird, who don't you get yourself a friends, pretty boring celebrating it with your oldies until now.
Welcome back, it seems you vanished for a while.
Hehe. Hint hint. That a sutle way to say it. 🙂
Welcome back Colleen. Thought you'd abandoned the place for good. Looks like they're gunna have a blast. I can see that the son is all excited & in party mode…
My site died beyond all hope of recovery while you were away & I've transferred to a free hosted Blogger site now.
Tony you da man for moving your site around. I'm good at that sort of thing, and still I hate it. I also hate fixing links but I will fix yours eventually. Some day I'll just have to take a full day and make all the necessary updates on my site.
It wasn't my fault this time. I kept getting more & more errors showing in my dashboard. I hadn't fiddled around with anything I shouldn't have it just went mad by itself. The last post I posted took about half a dozen attempts before it would actually post. It was more frustration than it was worth. Now I can just post my stuff & the Blogger people look after all the background stuff. Less hassles that way…
woot! welcome back, it means we'll be seeing more post from you. yey!
can't wait to see more comics from you!
haha the comic is funny! 😀
