This happens to Tix with rather depressing regularity. Tix is having a conversation with person A, then someone more important than Tix (which in her case seems to be just about everyone) butts in like she wasn’t even there. And it’s not like Tix was boring the crap out of person A with some long winded self indulgent tale… I’ve even seen it where person A was the one talking and in mid sentence they stop, pivot, and attend to the “person-who-is-obviously-more-important-than-Tix.” Personally, I think the lady in the plaid skirt is being extremely rude and she should be called out, even if she’s the frickin’ Queen of England. Just once I’d like to see some Person A say, “Excuse me, Tix and I were having a conversation, would you mind waiting until we are finished?” I feel like it is up to them and not Tix to say that, since they are the one being given the choice who to attend to. But they never say that–they just attend to the interrupt. Maybe it’s generic. Maybe we are all just conditioned to attend to every interrupt, regardless of its importance. Nah, somehow I doubt that.
Cloak of Invisibility,
Invisibility … yep, remember that took a bit of getting used to when first started working in admin offices of large companies.
Happens less in social setting, but I have seen it there also.
Have one ex-friend who used to do that sort of thing fairly regulary, he is now an ex-friend once I realised I was just his entrance buddy, and he was really there just waiting to be noticed by other 'important' folks.
Your webcomic is terrible. I can't handle this kind of horrid humor. Your art stinks, and your notations on the real world are sophmoric at best. I have read more that supports this from your archives; for this I am ashamed, as I have completely wasted my time with your terrible drivel. I am sorry you even exist.
This happens all the time in China, even to me, and I'm the boss!!
are they jaundiced burn victims
Yea, comments.
RE: Jaundiced burn victims. The skin color did not come out well on the scan. I didn't think anyone cared, but since you commented perhaps I will fix it.
Thank you for your opinion Nemo. There are many different kinds of people with many tastes and you're certainly entitled to yours.
… That's why i don't have any conversations with anyone, lol
Average people are usually rude or stupid, or both (like, for example, Nemo Jones we see here). I've been reading your comics for over a week now, sure, you have room where to improve your art, but the whole idea and humor is totally worth reading it even as "it is".
And about the art, i don't think it's a big problem after all. I know of a web comics that had a horrible art (much more worse than yours, i assure you!) and a great plot at the same time, so it had some audience. When that guy started getting some income from the comics, he hired a professional artist to redraw the whole thing from the start and also to change the plot. It's been 3 years ago, and that comics is still alive and kicking.
Thanks for the encouraging words ChickGeek. I also know comics (not just web comics) with much worse art than mine that are laughing all the way to the bank, and some of them are nationally syndicated. My artwork will either get better with practice or I will get a "real" artist.
I heartily enjoy this comic.
