We’re not free as long as we depend on foreign oil. Talk about pipelines or tweaking politics, it’s all really short sighted. The long view is that fossil fuel is FINITE anyway So all these things we’re fighting wars to keep going will be for nought, and it’s not millenia in the future, but in the forseeable future–our children/grandchildren’s lifetime. My uplifting thought for the fourth of July 2012. Cultural note: In the USA, traditional fuel is gasoline or gas for short. I’m not referring to natural gas in this comic, although some vehicles do run on that.
US gets most of our gas from this side of the world (US, Canada, Latin America) though it rings true because pricing still gets globalized because if China demands more fuel, costs go up in the middle east which raises our price too.
We’ve become slaves to the oil companies as they dictate exorbitant prices for petrol. My motorscooter costs me about $4 a week to run. Much cheaper than driving the car to work everyday.
Hey I can’t see your comic Next & Previous buttons anywhere???
I think I accidentally disabled them Tony. See if I can get ’em back.
So true about the fuel dependency.
Those flags probably aren’t even Made In America, either. 🙁
