Woot! My comic on practicing apparently “struck a chord” with Malaysian reader / guitarist / IT guy Namz. He featured my comic on his blog with full credit and linky luv, plus another one of his faves along the same lines. He even put a watermark on it for me (something I’ve been meaning to do myself.) Now that is a gentleman and a scholar. The dude’s version would be “you’ll end up in a cublcle doing stuff you hate for people you hate.” I’ve been there. Blargh! I’m not sure which of these outcomes is worse. At least the street musician gets some outdoor air. I’m practicing a lot these days, which is why this is not a DAILY comic. Just to rub it in, I embedded this Disney song from the Aristocats. I’m arranging it with jazzy chords, and I’m hoping the gang will bust it out for the dude before we break for summer.
That is really funny! A music teacher like that though might convince me to put away my guitar for good. "Tone deaf little weasel" Good one! I just saw that "practice dumbass" comic yesterday. One of my kids loved it and must have watched that Aristocats a thousand times!
He's only using the "tone deaf little weasel" line in a "see I told you so" context now that the guy has grown up to be a bum. He probably didn't call Clarence a tone deaf little weasel when he was a kid in his class. Though I did have an asshole choir director once tell me I had a voice like a strangling weasel, I proved him wrong by learning to do a passable job on the queen of the night aria and I actually get paid to sing and/or play once in a while.
