How to customize Entrecard Dropbox on Steroids
Here is what you do to customize this tab list for your own EC blog (YOU ONLY HAVE TO DO IT ONCE!):
- Go to your entrecard dashboard and look at the row of icons for the blogs who have dropped on you, near the top.
- Locate the small orange RSS icon at the far right. Right Click and do Copy Link Location.
- Now do a paste into your URL bar in your browser. The link should look something like this: http://entrecard.com/feeds/inbox/7PGZ5FFRCQ/rss2.0
- Clip out the part between inbox/ and /rss2.0. That is your feed id in Entrecard. Paste that feed id into the blank on top of the row of buttons and press CUSTOMIZE. If you’ve already done this, that box will not appear, instead it will say Customized for XXXXXXX.
- Now, whenever you come back to THIS page, the tabs will be customized to go to YOUR most recent droppers.
Petition Entrecard for a better feed
NOTE: Droplist on Steroids only handles the most recent 50 or so drops. I can only tab up what Entrecard provides. 
So if you get a lot of droppers you might want to visit early in the day and again later. Or for now you can just go to your EC drops inbox and clean up the older drops the old slow way. PLEASE CONTACT ENTRECARD and request that they provide a more complete dropbox feed. I’ve already asked. They don’t listen to me.
Troubleshooting and Reporting Bugs
Report any bugs via a message on my Entrecard profile.
(If you screw up and cause errors in the drop box or need to re-customize for another Entrecard Feed ID, delete the comix.dorkage.net cookie named ec_cookie and refresh the page.)

Mike wasn’t kidding. He warned me privately that EC might bounce me. Anyway, I put the EC widget back in the sidebar, not because of his comment but for other reasons. but since the EC ads use the data as it was when they bought the ad, some are still directing here. This page should peter out in a couple more days. I’m glad you are enjoying the posts. My sense of humor is a bit weird.
but it’s missing for the main site as well. It’s a good thing that I kept this link after i rearranges my firsfox book marks.
Yeah Mike I really hate the look of the EC widget, it craps up and slows down the site for people who mostly never click it. The main folks interested in the widget are EC people so I made this page specially for them. They will also see it else where if they refer from EC or any dropsites where I’m listed. When I took off adgitize and cut way back on EC my bounce rate went down to about 50% and I started getting real money to advertise on PW, which, IMO, is just a better deal than incentivised clicking.

I’ve got you in my reader but that’s not how I do my drops. I use the drops inbox and drop on those that drop on me. Works for me. So I’ll find your avatar either way.

I am working on a way to put YOUR drops on this page. It’s all in the cookie. It’s just that all that EC stuff slows down the page load and pretty much everybody blocks ads (including EC) anyway except the people who are in it.

I’m debating the whole EC thing too. I do get traffic, but not what I would call quality traffic. I can knock out the whole EC thing in thirty minutes a day, so time isn’t the issue. I do get some people who find me through EC and return back, so for now, I’m not sure which way to go. Thanks for the tool, it really helps.
Yes I think the hope of all EC’ers is that they will hook up with a few ppl who actually like their blog who would have never found it otherwise, and subscribe regardless of the incentive. I have gained a number of friends on EC. Thanks for trying the tool. But yeah, most of the traffic is just empty numbers isn’t it?
Can’t seem to reply to a reply; so, A lot of it seems like empty traffic, but the new site doesn’t show a lot of zero minute visits, so maybe the “newness” is catching people’s eye. And I do find some blogs I like, and friendly people.

It’s a cool tool. Since this Steriods only opens the sites that have dropped on my site, the possibility of getting some drops back (on the next day off course) is bigger than mere drop lists.
I will put the banner soon, but can I use another image and links it here? I think an image with the size of EC widget will suite my blog layout.

You obviously get what this tool does. I wish Entrecard would not limit the published feed to 50 drops, if it had an API I could make as many tabs as you have drops. But it seems like Entrecard is pretty much on autopilot these days, they never answer me when I ask them why they limit it to 50 drops. My next project will be to scrape the drops directly out of the inbox. but it will be a bit messy to do it for anyone except myself, because of authentication.
I’ve made and placed the banner. It’s the best I can manage for now. I hope it’s fine.
BTW, you might better check the banner code you provide above. I don’t know if it happens to anybody else, but apparently something is wrong with the quote marks. My banner won’t show up at first. When I copy your code in notepad, some of the closing quot marks turn into small squares. I guess that’s the reason the banner didn’t show up.

I have used Greasemonkey for quite some time now i think It’s a great tool to speed up dropping.
I can’t get my head around how this works to implement it i have read it several times, and can’t believe how slow I am with this but I’m sure i will get there in the end lol
Steve if you can tell me exactly where you got stuck I might be able to get it working for you.
I have just put my feed in and got an error and now can’t get rid of the error to retry

then i don’t see any buttons to click on…..unlike which i saw them when i 1st time saw b4 entering my feed
Shenuj, just clip out the ID part of the feed. It should say customized for Y9NCCD2X62 not customized for the whole URL.
where to get that Greasemonkey script?
what is the estimated speed of dropping?
how long does it take to drop 300 with that Greasemonkey ?
This script will only do about fifty. That’s the limit Entrecard gives on the public RSS feed of your inbox.
So you can’t drop 300 with this. But the advantage is they are all droppers, your %age of dropbacks is much higher. If we flood EC with requests to do a more complete feed and they do it I could create tabs for all your drops. But I don’t see much active development at EC.
Colleen – I think my PC must be on steroids as your advert used to be right at the top – outside your main blog up against the Entrecard drop box …. lol!! I don’t mind where it is situated but obviously somewhere near the top is useful. I find whichever method I use to drop is slow. The black line with the drop on it is the main problem it often remains black without the word ‘drop’ appearing and I click and click and click again and then sometimes have to re-load the page. It is worse on blogs with lots of flashing pictures. Anyway …. more to the point anything and I mean anything that helps us all clickety click that bit faster is wonderful ……. so thank you Colleen it must have taken you an amazing amount of time to sort it all out ……. admiration in portals to you, you’re an absolute wizzard!!
