I’m not sayin’ everybody who puts inspirational quotes up on Facebook is a mean bitch. This comic is only sayin’ it doesn’t make me think you are any nicer of a person. I’m sayin’ in the time it took to post that quote to make all your Facebook friends think you are nice, you coulda actually been nice and clicked something that actually helps your friends. Just sayin’!

Sometimes it’s as easy or almost as easy to actually BE nice in a way that leaves a footprint (that’s the only way that’s genuine!), but the drawback is that people will know WHO you were nice to, and you don’t want your reputation sullied by association. Posting inspirational messages doesn’t require you to take that “risk.”

I have a close friend that posts inspirational messages (about three per day). When I read them I just think to myself “Last night you complained about your family for over an hour! Why are YOU posting a message about the importance of family?!”

The demotivators are usually funnier.
So perhaps I should actually do something nice like starting a Facebook Cause for world hunger instead & get lots of people to like it. That will make the world a better place

There are always a few that love putting those up on facebook constantly. After awhile, it feels like they go to that well too often.

…I think the worst sort of these things is the post that has some heart-rending message about someone and then you’re supposed to “share” to show you care, and then the person sez “I hope I’m right about who will share this” like if you don’t now she/he KNOWS you’re a stone cold bastard. So I don’t like to have to prove to someone I care; I mean, who are they to ask? I ask you. I have a ‘toon mapped out for this – it ends with a moral: If you care, don’t overshare. OK, then,pls post this to yr facebook if you have a shred of humanity – I’ll be watching to see your degree of heartlessness…
I am an unapologetically heartless bee-yotch about those indeed. For starters, how do I know they aren’t a hoax? If even half the people who get these really did share them, Facebook would be flooded with a bazillion copies. Chain letters, in any form, are a DEFINITE ABSOLUTE WILL NOT spread!
But I thought reposting those inspirational quotes instantly bought me a free trip to heaven. %&$#*@!!!!
