You can’t harm your voice by trying to sing too high. But you can stress it if you try to sing too low. Little boys are in a hurry for puberty and the vocal change that goes with it, but they should wait until they are really ready. The voice change happens too soon anyway, from a mom’s perspective. This comic features Paolo, Tix’s younger son. He rarely gets featured in a comic because he is a parent’s dream (as is my real son); and humour comes from screwing up. This comic is actually total fiction. (Except for the part about the anal probes — I’m a terrible parent, I know.) The Queen of the Night Aria is one of the most well known pieces of opera, but if you aren’t up on your Magic Flute (AKA Die Zauberflöte) or your Mozart, Here is a video of boy soprano Clint Van der Linde at age 15 (who now makes his living as a countertenor) singing it. There was no trace of the countertenor timbre in Clint’s voice when he recorded this, though. He was a clear true treble. Anyway Paoli never does anything halfway, for sure.
